Located in the Inner Harbor of Baltimore, SciTech is a field trip destination that engages students in grades 3–12 in hands-on, inquiry-based science activities that stimulate thought and engage participants.
We are now accepting registrations for the 2021–2022 school year!
Check out the information below and when you're ready, submit a SciTech Visit Request Form.
With over fifteen different activities to choose from for elementary, middle, and high school students, educators are able to complement and enhance the science learning that is happening in the classroom by participating in a 3-hour, self-contained lab experience lead by our instructors. All of our laboratory activities are aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards. Each activity is based on real-world problems and issues, allowing students to engage in scientific and engineering practices while learning content in new and challenging ways.
Our current capacity is 20 students. We will follow all local social distancing and masking policies and will provide details on these when your trip is reserved.
The fee to visit SciTech is $12.00 per student. There is no fee for teachers or chaperones.
Student fees will be waived for Maryland public and charter schools in underserved communities (at least 50% of students receive Free and Reduced Meals) and those that serve students traditionally underrepresented in STEM (at least 50% of students identify as African American or Hispanic). Click here to determine if your school is eligible for a fee waiver.
Every student participating in a lab activity must have a signed permission slip. Teachers will submit the signed permission slips to the SciTech instructor on the day of the field trip. The permission slip is available in English and Spanish.
Payments are processed through Towson University’s invoicing system. We do not accept payments at our location. An invoice will be mailed to you separately by Towson University.
