Tiger Threads

Tiger Threads is a free client-choice clothing closet where community members can “shop” for up to two pieces of clothing each week. Members check in and out their items on the iPad using their TU ID number. Bags are provided, but bringing a reusable bag is recommended.

Benefits of Tiger Threads

Why do we offer a clothing closet?

  • Cost savings — allows students to save money on clothing expenses, enabling them to allocate their limited resources to other critical needs like tuition, textbooks, and housing.
  • Supporting well-being — enhances students’ well-being by ensuring they have appropriate attire for various situations, boosting their self-esteem and confidence.
  • Emergency support — provides essential clothing items to students affected by emergencies like fires or natural disasters, helping them regain a sense of normalcy during challenging times.
  • Promoting Sustainability — contributes to sustainability efforts by reducing the demand for new clothing production and mitigating the environmental impact of the fashion industry.

Pre-washed clothing donations are welcome anytime during The Hub’s open hours. The green donation bin is located on the porch. Please place items directly in the bin, or leave them neatly bagged beside it if the bin is full.

If the donation area is full or unavailable, please plan to return the following week. For any assistance, staff at the front desk are happy to help.
