The CSD is a place where folks can engage, discuss, unpack, challenge, and grow. Through programs and initiatives, we provide opportunities for folks to build community by learning about themselves and the world around them.    I have worked in the CSD for 5 years and Human Library continues to be one of my favorite programs. Human Library curates a space for challenging stereotypes through dialogue between human books and their readers. Fun Fact: I received a full ride scholarship to The Ohio State University when I was in the 6th grade thanks to the Young Scholars Program.

To me, the CSD is a mirror for the campus community, reflecting who we are and who we aspire to be. Since joining the team in December 2023, I’ve helped create spaces for reflection, learning and connection while uplifting minoritized communities. Our work fosters celebration, advocacy and belonging across identities. Lavender Graduation is especially meaningful to me, as it honors and celebrates our incredible LGBTQIA+ students. Fun fact: I wrote and published a book!

Joining the team in March 2026 was such a meaningful, full-circle moment. The CSD is a hub where TU students grow through curiosity, connection, and belonging. With nuanced programming, mentorship, and expanded access to resources, the Center helps students thrive both academically and professionally while advocating for equity, especially across underserved communities. Playing even just a small part in that mission fills me with so much pride! Fun Fact: Teal blue and butterflies symbolize my love for bold expression, transformation; and joy; values beautifully echoed throughout Disney’s Encanto (2021), the first major film I had the pleasure of working on.

I’ve been proud to be part of the CSD since June 2022 and deeply admire its mission-driven programs. I believe that APIMEDA communities are often rendered invisible or treated as a monolith, which can deeply affect students’ sense of belonging. It’s our responsibility to create safe and brave spaces where APIMEDA students feel seen, valued and authentically represented. Students trust us as advocates, strengthening their connection to both the CSD and the broader campus community. Fun fact: I absolutely love horror movies—and I like to sing to relieve stress.

I’ve been part of the team since June 2025 and to me, the CSD is a place where community, culture and possibility come together. Our work is vital in supporting students from the global majority and historically excluded groups by providing a space to connect, grow and thrive while inviting the broader campus to learn alongside them. One program I especially value is Entre Nosotres, which fosters comunidad through meaningful, intimate conversations that uplift Latine voices across campus. Fun Fact: I’m obsessed with pugs—I love watching reels, scrolling through pictures, and soaking up all the pug content I find. I even have one of my own: a sweet pug named Bruno!

The Center for Student Diversity is a home where students feel seen, supported and empowered to grow personally, academically and professionally. Through intentional spaces and meaningful programming, especially for historically underrepresented communities, the CSD fosters belonging, cultural humility and leadership. Since joining in February 2026, one of my favorite initiatives has been the Black Student Leadership Conference, which inspires students to lead authentically. Fun fact: I love collecting candles and gifting them during the holidays.
