Group swim lessons are designed to enhance skills, improve technique, and increase confidence in the water. Campus Recreation offers group swim lessons for children as young as six months old as well as classes for our adult members. Lessons are part of the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program and are led by student Water Safety Instructors.
Saturday & Sunday- 3:00 - 3:30 p.m.
Designed to help children become comfortable in and around the water so that when the time comes, they are ready to learn how to swim. Provides safety information for parents and teaches parents techniques they can use to help orient their children to the water.
Saturday & Sunday- 3:45 - 4:15 p.m.
Instills water safety and aquatics skills. Participants must be comfortable listening and following instructor directions.
Saturday & Sunday- 4:30 - 5 p.m.
Teaches how to swim skillfully and safely. Provides an introduction of basic aquatic skills through refining performance of all six strokes. All levels include training in basic water safety and helping others in an emergency. Each level builds on information and skills obtained from the previous level, promoting success and a positive learning experience. Levels will be assessed at the first class meeting time.
