New Student & Family Programs

Welcome home, Tiger! We hope you are excited to begin a rich and successful journey here at TU. The first step is joining us at New Student Orientation. It is a full-day program designed to prepare you for your social and academic journey at TU! Make sure to register your family and guests for Family Orientation as well.

Our Orientation programs welcome over 5,000 students and 3,000 family members each academic year. We are so excited to welcome you, too!

Prior to Arrival

On Move-In Day

  • Check your Move-In time and details starting August 2 after 5:00 p.m. Move In Day is Thursday, August 22. 
  • Not living on campus? Attend the Off Campus Student Kickback at 6:30 pm in PAWS (University Union)
  • Take care of business with campus offices and departments- check back for their office hours soon!

Welcome to TU begins!

  • Download the Towson Events App and search for the "Welcome to TU" guide for a complete guide to everything W2TU related!
  • All students must attend New Student Convocation on Friday, August 23 at 10:00 am in SECU Arena
  • Freshmen: Check your PeopleSoft account for your FYE (ORIE 305) class location from 1-4 pm on Friday, August 23
  • FTP Students: Attend FYE (ORIE 305) in the University Union Chesapeake Ballrooms from 1-4 pm on Friday, August 23
  • Transfers: Transfer Success Workshops will be held in West Village Commons immediately following, lunch included
  • Attend mandatory Saturday sessions as guided by your FYE group schedule

Register for Orientation

New Student Orientation is a full-day program designed to prepare you for your social and academic journey at TU! Make sure to register your family and guests for Family Orientation as well. The final orientation for both Freshmen and Transfer students will be held on August 21, 2019. Please call the New Student and Family Programs office at 410-704-2309 to register.

Parking for New Student and Family Orientation is located in the University Union Garage. Please follow the directions linked in the Orientation FAQs under "How do I get here and where do I go?" to enter the garage.

The program will begin in West Village Commons. A shuttle will be available to transport students and families as needed from the parking garage and throughout the day.
