What is New Student Orientation?

New Student Orientation is a mandatory one-day program designed to introduce you to TU's academic expectations and help you meet fellow incoming students. You will learn about your course schedule, academic standards, living on/off campus, and what it means to be a part of the TU community.

Will I be able to register for classes during New Student Orientation?

No. The Academic Advising Office registers new first-year students for the Fall semester. You must fill out the Academic Interest Form in order for advisers to place you in classes. This form must be completed by the May 15, 2017 deadline.

What do I need to bring for New Student Orientation?

You will need to bring a few items to New Student Orientation:

  • Know your TU ID (7-digit number), your Net-ID and password
  • Wear comfortable clothes and bring a reusable water bottle
  • Required documentation to get your OneCard
  • Parking permit (it will be e-mailed to you 3-5 days before your orientation date)
  • Download the Guidebook app on your mobile device

Yes! Students can bring up to two (2) guests to New Student Orientation. Each guest must pay the $25 fee to attend, which covers supplies and lunch.

You must register your guest at the same time you sign up for your New Student Orientation session. Each guest will attend Family Orientation and will not be able to attend student-only sessions.
