Freshmen Orientation

Freshmen orientation will be offered on Wednesday, January 13 and Friday, January 22.

Students must complete a pre-orientation module prior to attending orientation. Students will meet in the afternoon on the date selected, and Zoom information about joining the synchronous orientation session will be emailed to your official TU email closer to the date.

Building Community Sessions

Incoming students have the opportunity to network with other incoming students and campus offices during Building Community sessions

January 14, 2021 from 5:00- 6:00 pm: Life on Campus

January 21, 2021 5:00- 6:00 pm: Ask Me Anything (AMA)

Success Starts Here Sessions (Mandatory)

As part of Winter Welcome to TU, all incoming freshmen students must complete the Success Starts Here series to recieve vital information about TU. Students can select one session per topic and register using the links below.

What is New Student Orientation? 

New Student Orientation is a mandatory program designed to introduce you to TU’s academic expectations and help you meet fellow incoming students. You will learn about your course schedule, academic standards, living on/off campus and what it means to be a part of the TU community. 

Will I be able to register for classes during New Student Orientation?

No. The Office of Academic Advising registers new first-year students for the fall term. You must fill out the Academic Interest Form in order for advisers to place you in classes. 

Can a family member, guest or friend participate in New Student Orientation?

Yes. You must register your guest at the same time you sign up for your New Student Orientation session. Each guest will attend Family Orientation and will not attend student-only sessions. 

How do I request on-campus housing? What if I want to live off-campus?

Freshman students can apply for on-campus housing through Housing and Residence Life  (separate requests are needed to live in Millennium Hall or Paca and Tubman Houses).

If you are looking to live off-campus, TU has a new Off Campus Housing Finder that will help you locate apartment complexes close to campus.

What is the fee for New Student Orientation? 

The fee for students is $110 and is charged to your fall term bursar’s bill. Guests will not be charged for participating in the virtual version of family orientation. Download our fee policy here.
