Ready to take the next step? Our Study Abroad group advising session is mandatory for all students.* Sessions are held Monday through Friday at 2 PM via Blackboard Collaborate while the University operates remotely. The virtual group meeting tells you everything you need to know about the study abroad process including how to search for programs, how to apply, financial aid and scholarships, and course, grade, and credit transfers. The meeting lasts approximately 45 minutes. Participants that are not signed into the session by 2:05 PM will be asked to try again the next day to ensure that they do not miss important information.
Can't make it to a session? Students unable to attend a regularly scheduled group advising meeting may send an email to peeradvisor AT_TOWSON to request a make-up session.
After attending the group advising session, you are required to schedule a one-on-one meeting with a Study Abroad Adviser to begin planning your study abroad experience.* Together you can compare program options and discuss your goals for study abroad to find a program that suits your specific needs. Don't forget to have your advising packet from the Study Abroad group advising session accessible during your appointment. While TU operates remotely, Study Abroad staff members will meet with students via WebEx.
*Students applying to participate in a TU faculty-led short-term program are not required to attend a group advising session or meet with a Study Abroad Adviser.
NOTE: Sessions and advising appointments are only for TU students or students considering earning a full degree at TU. Non-TU students should contact the Study Abroad Office at their home institution.
