Request Your I-20/DS-2019

After you submit your enrollment deposit, the International Student & Scholar Office will be notified. ISSO will then grant you access to the ISSO Portal and provide detailed I-20 instructions.

To request your I-20, you will need to submit a copy of your passport and financial documents (bank statement and financial or room and board support guarantee from any sponsors, or government financial guarantee) to the International Student and Scholar Office (ISSO). Once your documents are verified and approved, the ISSO will process your I-20 immigration document. To submit the required documents and information:

  • Log in to the ISSO Portal using Towson University NetID and password.
  • Select your admit term (for example Fall 2024).
  • Upload electronic/scanned copies of financial documents (bank statement, Financial Support Guarantee, Room & Board Support Guarantee, or government financial guarantee) and passport.

For students already in the U.S. as an F-1 student:

  • Please complete the SEVIS Transfer-In request.
  • You will need to enter the name and email address of your international student adviser (DSO) at your current school.

Receiving Your Documents 

Your I-20 will be uploaded to your documents in the ISSO Portal, and you will be notified by email. Please download and print the I-20 to use for visa interview and entrance into the U.S.

Book a Flight to the United States

The closest airport to Towson University is Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI). You can arrive in the United States 30 days before the Program Start Date on your I-20 or DS-2019. Make sure to confirm visa approval and check program start date on I-20 or DS-2019 before booking your flight. 

Complete Items on Your To-Do List

Complete all required tasks on your Enrolled Student To-Do List. This list provides important orientation information that will help you transition to college life. Spring semester To-Do List tasks are updated by mid-October and fall semester To-Do List tasks are updated by early April.

Send Official Transcripts

If you attended or are currently attending a non-U.S. high school, you must submit a sealed original copy of your official transcript or mark sheets to: Towson University, University Admissions, 8000 York Road, Towson, Maryland 21252. You can also request that your school counselor submit to University Admissions your official school transcript(s) to .
