Graduate Programs & Immigration Compliance

Confirm that your graduate program meets immigration requirements for students on F1 and J1 visas.

International students on F1 and J1 visas are required to be enrolled full-time in graduate degree programs at Towson University. The majority of their classes must be in person and on campus.

Programs that Meet F1/J1 Immigration Regulations

These programs meet immigration regulations. Programs for students who are STEM-eligible are also noted.

Programs that Meet F1/J1 Immigration Regulations with Additional Requirements

These programs only meet immigration regulations with additional courses outside the curriculum, to maintain full-time enrollment. F-1/J-1 students may need to:

  1. Add an approved related certificate program to their master’s degree
  2. Take classes not associated with program

This may result in increased tuition, fees and credits beyond the normal program requirements. Please contact international graduate admissions or International Students and Scholars Office, or the relevant department for additional information about course sequencing and availability.
