BTU-Engagement Council

Council members serve as advocates and champions to communicate and implement best practices in their department or college and address strategic initiatives or challenges. The Council includes representatives from every academic college and administrative division.

BTU-Engagement Council members participate in subcommittees to help guide and inform engagement work across campus. Subcommittees have defined goals to address specific needs or challenges related to engagement work, including community engagement, civic engagement, corporate and business engagement, partnerships and the anchor mission. Previous subcommittees have focused on intergenerational engagement, educational collaborations, economic inclusion and tracking student community engagement. 

AY26–27 subcommittees

• Corporate Engagement: This subcommittee tracks how faculty and staff are working with corporate partners using the BTU Database and identifies ways to make it easier for corporate partners to connect with TU’s campus. 
• Engagement Training for Students: This subcommittee is working to create a training module to prepare students for community engagement and partnership work. 
• Volunteer Engagement: Offices across campus are working with local nonprofits and supporting faculty, staff and student volunteering. The goal of the subcommittee is to align this work and understand if there are ways to collaborate on these efforts.
