How did you find this internship?

This internship was posted on Handshake.

What did you do as an intern at this organization?

I design and present 90-minute workshops to student organizations and classes about career readiness skills on topics such as resumes, cover letters, interviews, and online networking. I am in charge of tracking all events and making sure all of our staff members are aware of workshops. I also help students understand the job application process.

What did you find most rewarding in your internship?

Being able to help students move forward in their career, building new confidence in myself, having creative freedom for your workshop, having a support system, and connecting with students are some of the greatest rewards.

What were the challenges you faced in your internship?

Learning all of the information quickly was difficult, but I felt supported by the staff. A personal challenge was talking too fast and having to work on slowing down my pace.

If another student at TU was interested in your internship next year, what skills would you recommend they develop in the coming semesters to prepare?

I recommend building confidence, being friendly and open to all students, and being able to research and customize workshops for different students groups.
