What advice on the internship application process would you give to another TU student interested in this internship?
Reach out with a positive attitude and be willing to learn.
What did you do as an intern at this organization?
As a strategic business researcher, I recorded various advertising and sponsorship data of major league television programs, radio broadcasts, websites, and others. In addition, I researched the information for different companies that teams had interest in and created profiles for those companies on the SponsorUnited website. While doing these tasks, I met with my boss once a week via zoom conference.
What did you find most rewarding in your internship?
What I found most rewarding was the information I learned about different companies, sponsorships, and business categories. This internship allowed me to expand my horizons and learn more about different companies and markets across the U.S.
What were the challenges you faced in your internship?
During my internship I faced the challenge of learning how the SponsorUnited intranet works and how to best collect data and create proper brand profiles. Through participation in the internship however, I was able to learn how to navigate different intranet systems within the company and learn the best data collection methods.
If another student at TU was interested in your internship next year, what skills would you recommend they develop in the coming semesters to prepare?
I would recommend they make sure their attention to detail, thoroughness, and internet savviness are up to par, in addition to working hard.
