Business Admin Major: Finance

This business administration major with a corporate finance concentration prepares students for careers in the corporate finance field responsible for capital budgeting and working capital. Common positions in the banking, insurance and real estate industries include business analyst, credit analyst and lender.

The corporate finance concentration for the business administration major has been accepted into the CFA Institute University Recognition Program. Students are well-positioned to sit for the exam to earn the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) credential because of the status granted to institutions whose degree programs incorporate at least 70 percent of the CFA Program® Candidate Body of Knowledge.

As a part of the program, students learn Tableau, how to perform complex modeling in Excel, and complete the Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC) Certification, which certifies their skills with Bloomberg terminal technology, the world leader in financial and data services and gives them a competitive advantage.

Admission Requirements

Business administration is a screened major. Students are admitted to the business administration major (BUAD) only after successfully completing a set of required courses with a C or higher in each of those courses and an overall TU GPA of 2.0 or higher. See all admission requirements.
