The Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) program at Towson University has a carefully designed formative and summative assessment system that provides students and faculty with indicators of knowledge and skill development throughout the program. The timing of these assessments is provided to students during new student orientation as part of the Au.D. Student Handbook. All assessment items are provided for students in advance except for the Gateway examination, which is a two-hour written comprehensive examination followed by an oral defense.
