Student Organizations

The department supports student organizations for each of our programs.

Information about student groups is distributed in department orientation activities and in classes; information is also posted on department bulletin boards located in the first floor hallways of Van Bokkelen Hall. Students are encouraged to join these groups and get connected with faculty and other students in the major. The department sponsors the following students organizations.

National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA) Undergraduate chaper: This organization is for undergraduate majors in speech-language pathology and audiology. It is affiliated with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, the national professional group for audiologists and speech-language pathologists. NSSLHA sponsors events for student members and participates in service activities such as the Heart Walk, and National Memory Walk. Faculty Advisors: Professor Caudill

SLP Graduate NSSLHA chapter: This is a NSSLHA group for graduate speech-language pathology majors. The group meets separately from the undergraduate organization to focus on the needs of graduate majors. The two groups combine together for service activities and student mentoring. Faculty Sponsors: Professor Day and Professor Weeden Shannon
