USM Hagerstown Nursing Program

The Department of Nursing is meeting the educational needs of nurses throughout the state by offering its basic/pre-licensure option in Hagerstown, Maryland.

About the Nursing Major at Hagerstown

Admission to the nursing major at the University System of Maryland (USM) Hagerstown Center is available for a fall program start only. Students must apply by January 15 for fall admission. The nursing major curriculum at the USM Hagerstown Center is identical to that offered at the Towson main campus. Clinical sites are in the Western Maryland, Washington and Baltimore areas. Students accepted to the nursing major at this location will complete their nursing program requirements at the USM Hagerstown Center.

TU does not offer any non-nursing course at this location, so students are expected to have all other degree requirements completed by program start. Students who need to complete additonal requirements may need to go to the main campus or take online courses.

Applying to USM Hagerstown

The admission and application criteria for the nursing major at the USM Hagerstown Center are the same as for the main campus. Students may apply to the USM Hagerstown Center for fall program start. Students may list USM Hagerstown as a first or second choice campus on their application for nursing admission. Students do not need to live in the Hagerstown region to apply for this location, but any admitted student will be responsible to their own transportation and housing if they attend.
