The Office of Civic Engagement and Social Responsibility offers workshops that develop participants’ ability to address the issues and challenges facing our communities, our country, and the world.

TU students, staff and faculty members can request the following capacity-building workshops for their student organizations, departments or classes. The Office of Civic Engagement and Social Responsibility also accepts requests to develop and facilitate additional workshops. To request a workshop, please complete our quick form

Civic Life Workshops 

Foundations of Civic Engagement: This workshop develops participants’ civic agency and introduces them to pathways for civic action.

Civic Literacy: This workshop provides participants with important information about navigating the political process, becoming an educated voter and engaging in advocacy.

Institutional Change: This workshop highlights approaches for collaborative, long-term change within institutions.

Community Based Learning and Teaching Workshops 

Foundations of Community Engagement: This workshop introduces participants to important concepts and approaches to pursue meaningful community-focused collaborations.

Tools for Reflection: This workshop focuses on the importance of reflection to explore the impact of community engagement on the individual and the group.

Justice-Centered Community Engagement: This workshop introduces participants to approaches that foreground justice as they prepare to connect and work with community groups.
