Nearly 150 years ago, Towson University started as the State Normal School—a teachers' college. Today, the College of Education proudly continues TU's tradition of producing quality teachers in every field and at every level, from early childhood to higher education. Our education faculty members are committed to a common goal: preparing the next teachers and supporting their continued development so they can respond creatively to the educational challenges of the 21st century.
Our curriculum and methods evolve to meet new educational standards, ensuring our graduates are prepared for the classroom as well as new standards in teacher evaluation. That includes our support of Towson UTeach, which prepares math and science majors to teach in grades 7-12. Your generous gifts to the College of Education and its specific projects keep Towson at the forefront of teacher education and preparation.
