Computer Labs

Computer labs maintained by the Department of Art are located on the floor 4 of the Center for the Arts building. Lab CA 4012 is open to art, art history and art education students starting the second week of school through to the second to the last day during finals week.  The lab is monitored closely.

Spring 2019 Lab Schedule

Computer Lab 4012 opens to Art, Art History and Art Education majors starting the 2nd week of the semester and closes the second to last day of finals.  

The lab will close December 17th and not reopen until February 5th.  

Closed for spring break:  March 17-24, 2019 (Sunday-Sunday)
Closed for Thanksgiving break:  Wednesday - Sunday 2019

  • Hours vary each fall and spring semester. 
  • Open hours change during final exam period.
  • The lab is closed during Minimester and Summer sessions. 
  • The lab is closed when the university is closed, including holidays and inclement weather. 

Printing Policy in Computer Labs

Students enrolled in graphic, illustration, photography or digital art classes are allotted fifty sheets per semester. 

Standard SofTWARE AVAILABLE IN ALL DEPARTMENT LABS:

  • Adobe Creative Suite 2015.5 Master Collection 
  • Microsoft Office 2016 
  • Mac OS 10.11 (which covers Garageband, Pages, etc)
  • Maya in the main labs only

Storage

  • Students are encouraged to purchase thumbdrives or external hard drives.
  • All new computers have combo-drives or super-drives, and USB-2 and Firewire ports.
  • Zip drives are no longer offered.
  • Undergraduate Art + Design students who are currently enrolled in or have completed ART 217 (or equivalent) receive access to storage on the Department of Art + Design server. All MFA graduate students automatically receive storage as well.
