Internship syllabi are linked below. Please read the internship approval criteria in the syllabus before starting the internship search process. Internship coordinators are not available for internship approval June 16 - August 15 or December 15 - January 1.

Internship registration must be completed within three weeks of the first day of classes for fall and spring semesters, and by the last day of drop/add for minimester and summer semesters.

Also:

  • internships are an elective, not a requirement
  • MCOM majors may earn a total of 9 internship credits (maximum of three in a semester), but only 6 will count toward the major
  • Students cannot earn credits in two consecutive semesters from the same internship
  • every 40 hours you work on an approved internship is worth one academic credit
  • internships for credit must be approved in advance (see the course syllabi for the approval criteria); non-credit internships do not need approval from the internship coordinators

Step 3: Obtain approval

Fill out the appropriate approval form and submit it to the appropriate internship coordinator before meeting with your faculty internship advisor. Internship coordinators are not available for internship approval June 16 - August 15 or December 15 - January 1.

You will be notified of the approval status in 5-10 business days. Once your form is successfully submitted, you will receive an automated message. Please keep this with you as a receipt.

Step 4: Meet with Internship Advisor

If the internship is approved, meet with a faculty internship advisor, who is a full-time faculty member in the track of the approved internship. Your advisor will help you register for your internship.
