About the College

The Jess and Mildred Fisher College of Science and Mathematics offers undergraduate and graduate programs in the physical, mathematical, computational and life sciences, with an emphasis on student success through improving student retention, persistence and time-to-graduation. The Fisher College promotes a wide range of opportunities for authentic research experiences for all undergraduates. The college is the home of numerous STEM education and outreach programs including Towson UTeach-Towson’s path to becoming a high school science or mathematics teachers.

Grounded in innovative teaching, impactful research, and the integration of teaching and research, the Fisher College of Science and Mathematics cultivates curiosity, connection, and discovery. Through collaborative, experiential learning and opportunities for student research, we prepare learners to think critically, navigate complexity, and contribute meaningfully to their communities and the greater good.

Our Students

The college serves both full and part-time students with diverse social, geographic, economic and educational backgrounds who are pursuing career and educational goals. To develop a scientific literacy in all students, we provide a wide variety of general education courses, firmly rooted in the liberal arts.
