Undergraduate Programs

Students in our program select one of two concentrations: Environmental Science or Environmental Studies. If you are intrigued by the challenges of planning, regulation and policy, or if you are interested in reaching out to the public through informal environmental education, the Environmental Studies concentration will serve your needs best. If your interests and talents are in the natural sciences, you should explore the Environmental Science concentration.

Environmental Science and Studies students take courses with faculty from many colleges at the university. Students completing the major will take courses in geography, biology, chemistry, political science, geology, economics, health science, philosophy and other disciplines of study through the College of Liberal Arts, College of Health Professions, College of Business and Economics and the Fisher College of Science and Mathematics.

Regardless of which pathway a student chooses, the rigorous training at the undergraduate level prepares graduates for various entry-level environmental positions in the public, private and nonprofit sectors and is excellent preparation for advanced study.
