Body-Worn Camera Recording Requests

Every uniformed officer and supervisor in TUPD's Patrol Bureau and Community Outreach Unit is assigned a body-worn camera (BWC). Plainclothes investigators,  officers and supervisors in staff positions are also assigned a BWC for use whenever they work on a uniformed assignment likely to involve interaction with the community. Officers are trained to activate their BWC whenever they engage in law enforcement encounters.

Requesting Footage

Complete the form below to request video footage from TUPD officers’ body-worn cameras. Enter as much information as possible to help us locate the requested footage. Once submitted, an officer will reach out to you with an estimated timeline and cost. You will also be notified if the requested recording is not subject to disclosure or does not meet the requirements for release. TUPD must balance the privacy and investigative concerns with the need for transparency while complying with relevant public disclosure laws. Thus, even when certain video footage may be released, portions of the video and audio may be subject to redaction.
