Campus Events & Activities
On-campus events give you a front-row seat to TU’s vibrant community. These events,
or programs, are typically free for TU students and give you the opportunity to connect
with the campus community on a deeper level.
Whether it’s a book fair, concert or game night, there’s always something happening
— and always a reason to get involved.
From creative pop-ups to large-scale traditions, events are designed support student success, build community and strengthen your sense of belonging.
Attend social events to:
- Create positive, lasting memories through unique experiences
- Meet new people and find your community
- Enjoy free food, prizes and giveaways
What to Expect at Events
Event Size and Vibe
Events vary in size and energy. Some are smaller and laid-back, while others are large, high-energy experiences with music, games and crowds.
You’ll find:
- Small events (20–150 attendees) or large events (200–700+ attendees)
- Loud, high-energy programs or calming, low-engagement spaces
- Free-flowing activities or facilitated programs
Accessibility
University-hosted events aim to consider accessibility and dietary needs during planning. If you need additional accommodations, contact the event host or Accessibility and Disability Services (ADS).
Check-In Required
Most Student Activities events require check-in through Involved@TU prior to entering the event space via QR code. Some events may have a short wait while attendees are checked in. If an experience requires an RSVP to attend, that information will communicated in advance.
Planning on attending an event?
Here are tips to prepare for your experience:
- Be ready to check in using Involved@TU
- Arrive with an open mind and ready to socialize
- Review time, location and RSVP or ticket details in advance
Level of Involvement
You decide how involved you want to be. Some events invite you to sit back and enjoy as an audience member. Others have hands-on participation designed to help you meet new people or encourage you to get out of your comfort zone.
Want to take it further? Join planning teams like the Campus Activities Board or Homecoming Committee and help bring events to life.
Event Timing and Locations
Event themes and purposes shift throughout the year. Some are hosted by departments or student organizations, while others bring the entire campus together.
These campuswide traditions are known as Signature Events, including Welcome to TU, Homecoming, TigerFest, and Family Weekend. These are large-scale, high-quality celebrations that happen annually and take place over several days.
Most events run 2–3 hours and take place in the afternoon or evening, typically between 4–9 p.m. Some occur during lunch hours from 11 a.m.–1 p.m.
Popular programming locations include the University Union, Tiger Plaza and West Village Commons.
