If you suspect that a student has violated the University Guidelines for Responsible Computing, please email the Director of Student Accountability and Restorative Practices and provide the following information:
- name of the student
- student account username (if known)
- nature of the violation
- evidence
Based on the evidence and nature of the offense, the following actions may occur sequentially
or individually:
- Contacting the student with a "Good Neighbor" phone call or letter
The "Good Neighbor" approach informs the student that certain actions outlined in
the University Guidelines for Responsible Computing are not permitted. Students will
be encouraged to be a "Good Neighbor" and to refrain from inappropriate behaviors.
- Administrative Action
Violations may result in the Office of Student Accountability and Restorative Practices
(link to page) to instruct the Office of Technology Services to revoke or restrict
the computer privileges of the student.
- Disciplinary Action
Violations may result in disciplinary action outlined in the Code of Student Conduct.
- Legal Action
Alleged violations may also be referred to local, state and/or federal authorities.
