Information Governance

TU’s Information Governance program consists of data governance, and data privacy processes, procedures, standards and technologies that provide a holistic approach to protecting and managing data.

Data governance and data privacy work together and are both underpinned by Information Security standards to protect the confidentiality, integrity, availability, privacy and quality of data throughout its lifecycle, from creation to destruction.

  • Data governance focuses on policy and procedures for the overall protection of data and its permitted use.
  • Data privacy focuses on the protection of personally identifiable information and data subject rights.

The Office of Information Security and Privacy provides guidance and requirements on how to safely use and handle data, who is responsible for TU data and how to determine data type at TU.
