Get Involved with ADS

Our office is trialing an ADS Student Advisory Board!

We’re excited to invite students to apply for the ADS Student Advisory Board trial. This is an excellent opportunity to have your voice heard in the work of the ADS office, provide feedback on campus accessibility, and help plan ADS events aimed at increasing a sense of community for disabled students.

As a board member, you will be a key part of shaping the future of disability inclusion at Towson University. If you are a student who has been registered with ADS for at least one semester and are passionate about improving on-campus accessibility, we want you on our team!

Why apply?

  • Provide feedback on accessibility processes and events.
  • Plan, promote, and volunteer at ADS events.
  • Build leadership skills and network with others invested in accessibility and inclusion.
  • Help make Towson University more inclusive for students with disabilities.

Delta Alpha Pi Honor Society

Delta Alpha Pi (DAP) Honor Society recognizes college students with disabilities for their academic achievement and promotes a positive message regarding students with disabilities. The TU chapter of DAP, Alpha Epsilon, was founded in 2009 and is one of more than 120 chapters at colleges and universities nationwide.

DAP is open to students with documented disabilities who demonstrate an interest in disability issues and meet specific academic requirements. Undergraduate students must have completed 24 credits with an overall GPA of 3.10. Graduate students must have completed 18 credits with an overall GPA of 3.30.

DAP facilitates development of leadership and advocacy skills and provides opportunities for members to serve as mentors and role models. It also provides educational programming related to disability issues to the campus community.

DAP is an academic year long program with opportunities to take part in programs and services beginning in the Fall and an induction ceremony at the end of the Spring semester.

Workforce Recruitment Program

WDP also sponsors the federal Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP), a recruitment and referral program that connects federal employers with college students and recent graduates with disabilities seeking summer and permanent jobs. Students do not need to be registered with ADS but must be eligible for a Schedule A letter that certifies their disability for federal employment. ADS can assist students with obtaining this documentation from a qualified provider.
