Community Dance Center

Towson University Community Dance is an extension of the Department of Dance and its mission reflects the department’s mission of advocating “Dancing for a Lifetime.” The comprehensive curriculum, renowned faculty and highly trained instructors offer excellence in dance education for children, adults, and professionals.

“ TUCD excels in a way I haven’t experienced at other dance programs. Their teachers combine top-notch training with a true nurturing environment. All dancers, recreational through those who want to be professional, thrive here. ”

Andrea Weir, mother of three TUCD dancers

“ Dance for me has always been a joy, and to be able to continue under the current challenges has been uplifting in mind, body, and spirit. ”

Debbie Wilson, adult dance participant

TUCD's three distinct programs — Children’s Dance, Adult Dance and our Professional Development offerings play a powerful role in the growth of many artists in the state of Maryland.

Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Dance (NASD), the TU Community Dance program promotes an appreciation of the aesthetics of dance as an art form. It offers dance movers, educators and enthusiasts a stimulating and inviting environment to develop their technical excellence and deepen their artistic voice through a multifaceted curriculum.
