Develop

Over the course of your educational experience at TU, you can gain digital technology skills through some of the following methods:

  • Visit Student Computing Services in Cook Library for tech help
  • Join a student club or organization (could be academic, honors, social or athletic!)
  • Contact the Office of Technology Services for technology information, training, and resources
  • Search the software inventory to see what software is available and how to get it  (Adobe Creative Cloud, Office 365, and more)
  • Responsibility share your TU experience through your own personal social media platforms (Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat, etc.) and remember that being able to use these platforms is an employable skill
  • Consider adding a minor in information technology, information systems, computer science, marketing or electronic media and film
  • Use technology to promote events via website creation and social media
  • Create and curate a professional LinkedIn profile
  • Earn certification in Microsoft Office through a degree in business administration
  • Use Big Interview online program to practice interviewing skills
  • Take advantage of LinkedIn and Handshake during job searches
  • Consider applying to graduate programs in marketing intelligence, applied information technology, computer science, etc.

Interview Questions

Be prepared to answer common technology interview questions including:

  • Describe a challenge you had in solving a technical problem. How did you solve it, and how did you know what software or tools you needed?
  • Tell me about a time when you sought out the opportunity to learn a new piece of software or tool. How did you become proficient using it?
  • Give an example of a time where you introduced someone else to a new technological approach to solving a problem.
  • Provide an example of when you had to change how you approached your work to adapt to using new technology. What were the challenges and opportunities the new technology brought to your work?
  • Describe a situation where you had to troubleshoot a technology problem.

Students enrolled in technology majors should be prepared for technical interview questions.
