Students have the opportunity to earn the Certificate of Learning administered by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) via the Assurance of Learning Assessment for Graduating HR Students. This certificate is the universal benchmark for students in human resource management with little to no work experience in human resources. Passing the exam demonstrates to employers a student has the minimum knowledge to pursue a profession in human resources.
The department offers a MNGT 470 Special Topics in Management course in both the fall and spring terms to help students prepare for the exam.
