Psychology — Experimental Concentration (M.A.) 

Application Deadlines

Admission to the Psychology - Experimental Concentration (M.A.) is for the fall term only:

  • Priority Deadline: Jan. 15
  • Final Deadline: April 1

Admission Criteria

  • No GRE scores are required.
  • A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • A minimum undergraduate grade point average of 3.00 for full admission. All GPA calculations may be based upon either the cumulative units or the last 60 units of the degree. See graduate admissions policies for more information.
  • Prerequisite courses with grades of “B” or higher in Statistics and Research Methods in Psychology or a comparable course.

Application Requirements 

Submit an online application, application fee and official transcripts, along with:

  • Letters of Recommendation: Two letters of recommendation from instructors or supervisors familiar with your record, aptitude and potential for graduate work. Letters commenting on research experience are particularly useful (email addresses of recommenders must be entered on application). 
  • Statement of Purpose: A 600-900 word statement describing your research interests, research experience and professional goals. In this statement, you should identify one or more faculty members with whom you would like to work on research in our program.
  • Resume/CV: A copy of your current resume or curriculum vita highlighting research, teaching, or related professional experience.

Additional Requirements for International Applicants

U.S. Immigration requires F1 and J1 students to be enrolled full-time with the majority of their classes taken in-person and on campus.
