Psychology - Experimental Psychology Concentration (M.A.) 

Application Deadlines

The Psychology - Experimental Concentration (M.A.) program admits for the fall term only. Priority is given to applicants whose complete application materials are received by January 15. After January 15, we will continue to accept applications until the incoming class is full, or up through the final application deadline of April 1. Admission is granted on a competitive, space-available basis.

Admission Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university.**
  • A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.00 is required for full admission to the program. Conditional admission is occasionally offered to students with a GPA of less than 3.00 who show exceptional research promise.
  • Prerequisite courses with grades of “B” or higher in Statistics and Research Methods in Psychology or a comparable course.
  • GRE General Test scores are optional. You may submit scores if you have them, and they will be considered by the admissions committee. Applications without GRE scores will be given equal consideration.
  • A 600- to 900-word statement of purpose describing your research interests, research experience and professional goals. In this statement, you should describe how your research interests align with those of one or more faculty member(s) with whom you would like to work.
  • Two letters of recommendation. Letters commenting on research experience are particularly useful (Email addresses of recommenders must be entered on application).
