Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Studies Minor
Examine diversity from a number of different perspectives, including the differences
and common elements of various sexual identities.
Towson University was the first university in Maryland to recognize LGBT Studies as
a legitimate academic field. Pursue this interdisciplinary minor in LGBT Studies to
learn more about the history, politics, psychology and culture of the LGBT community
and its development. The minor in LGBT Studies provides a collaborative academic approach
to understanding issues related to LGBT individuals and communities.
This interdisciplinary program complements majors in the health professions, liberal
arts, and education. In addition, the LGBT program responds to the political and economic
demand in the workforce for diversity training. Many employers value employees with
expertise in diversity issues related to LGBT populations. View degree requirements in the Undergraduate Catalog.
