Experience the Department of Music

If you have ever wondered what it is like to be a music major at Towson University, our personalized visits to the Department of Music will help to give you the answer.

Shadow Day

Note: During the Fall 2020 semester we are unable to provide face-to-face visits at the Towson campus.  We hope to resume in person visits during the Spring 2021 semester.

However, we are prepared to offer you a number of options for a virtual "Shadow Day" so you can experience the Department of Music more fully. Please fill out the registration form. A Department of Music representative will contact you soon to arrange a remote visit.

Virtual shadow days may include the following experiential activities tailored to your specific time constraints and needs:

  • Take a free on-line lesson (instrument/voice/composition)
  • Meet TU students within your particular area of interest
  • Attend a virtual class with TU students
  • Meet with the Assistant to the Chair for information about our degree programs, applying to the Department of Music, scholarships, or to address any questions you may have

Through these opportunities, you will experience first-hand our quality programs and instruction, learning from current music majors, faculty and staff what it means to study music at TU. We look forward to tailoring a shadow day that meets your needs and allows you to experience our Department even during this virtual time. Parents are welcome to meet with one of the department's academic advisors. We look forward to meeting you!
