Transfer Student Policy

Only courses approved by the Department of Mathematics may be applied to a major program offered by the department. If a student submits mathematics units that are more than five years old at the time of admission or readmission, the chair, after reviewing these records, may require that some courses be repeated or that a new course be substituted.

Mathematics majors in the applied mathematics or pure mathematics concentrations, and those who are not following a concentration, are required to take MATH 490 “Senior Seminar” and at least six (6) additional upper-division courses in their mathematics major concentration at Towson University.

All mathematics majors in the actuarial science and risk management concentration are required to take MATH 498 and at least six (6) additional upper-division courses in their mathematics major concentration at Towson University.
