Prospective students interested in the Honors College are encouraged to connect with us at university open house events or schedule individual visits. Meet current students and staff, discover the opportunities offered by the Honors College, and learn more about the benefits of the Honors community at Towson University.
In addition to visiting Towson University to attend an open house or tour you may find it helpful in your application and decision process to meet with a member of our staff, to sit in on an Honors College class, or to meet with a current student. This can be scheduled by contacting the Honors College Coordinator, Abram Fox, at afox AT_TOWSON. We just ask that you give us at least two weeks of notice for individual visits so we can arrange the best campus experience for you.
General information about campus tours and visiting TU can be found on the Admissions website. The university is closed for all state and national holidays and between December 24 and January 1.
The Honors College hosts an Admitted Student Day program each spring in conjunction with the biannual Celebration of Scholarship and Learning. Additionally, a number of other admitted student events which include opportunities to meet current Honors students and learn more about the program occur throughout the spring term.
At Open House programs, you'll get an overview of the university and talk one-on-one with your future professors and classmates. You will learn about the different colleges that make up our university, and we'll have programs for you and your parents, plus an information fair and light snacks. Reservations are required to attend Open Houses.
The Honors College hosts an information session during Open Houses and is otherwise available to answer questions from interested students. Fall 2021 Open House dates will be posted in August.
TU4U is a celebration of everything Towson University, and what the university can be for you. You'll get the chance to meet many other students who have been admitted to TU, ask questions about your major from professors and college representatives, meet current students from a variety of clubs and organizations, find out information from numerous departments, and explore campus during a student-led campus tour. You might even meet your future roommate!
The Honors College hosts an invitation-only breakfast program for admitted students during TU4U, as well as a sample Honors seminar and tours of Douglass House, the Honors residential learning community.
