Environmental Health & Safety

We offer training and monitoring to minimize campus health and safety risks.

Our goal is to keep the campus environment safe for the health of its inhabitants and compliant with federal, state and local standards. We have dedicated programs geared toward maintaining biological and radiation safety, proper storm water management, fire safety and securing chemical hazards. We also work to minimize the risk of individuals working on campus through employee safety programs, which include fire, asbestos and other emergency risks, and occupational safety programs including hearing conservation, ladder safety and accident investigations. When occupational incidents occur, we help with insurance processing.

CPR/AED

CPR training is offered to the campus community through the College of Health Professions and Campus Recreation.  In addition, anyone on campus can use our more than 30 life-saving automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) in emergency situations. No training is required to use an AED to save someone experiencing cardiac arrest. However, it is important to know the benefits of CPR/AED training in the workplace (PDF)
