9/11 Remembrance: Paying Tribute to the Fallen

Join the Military and Veterans Center alongside campus and community partners as we
remember and pay tribute to those we lost during the September 11, 2001 attacks and
the events that followed. CESR is a proud partner of this event, and we will be there
providing opportunities to serve the community and be civically engaged.
New York Times Talk "A Pink Wave:" Women and the Midterm Elections

Join us for our first New York Times talk of the semester! Dr. Sarah Oliver with the
Department of Political Science will facilitate a conversation about the wave of female
candidates running for the many open seats all over the country, as we gear up for
the 2018 Midterm Elections. What makes this one of the most historic and impactful
election seasons for women in the United States?
Constitution Day Celebration

Constitution Day commemorates the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution on
September 17, 1787. Join us at Freedom Square for fun activities, a free pocket copy
of the U.S. Constitution, and some apple pie!
Federal Depository Library Program Birthday Bash

Celebrate the 7th birthday of the Federal Depository Library Program. Come down to
Freedom Square to get some birthday cake, Rita’s, and a pocket Constitution.
A Campus Conversation with Ira Shapiro

We are excited to host Ira Shapiro at Towson University! Mr. Shapiro is an author,
former U.S. trade negotiator and senior Senate Staffer. He most recently published
"Broken: Can the Senate Save Itself and the Country?" and is also the host of "After
Words with Ira Shapiro" on CSPAN.
