Campus Stream Clean-Ups

In partnership with the Office of Sustainability, campus stream clean-ups are held once per semester.  The Fall 2017 stream clean-up will be held on November 10th, register today!

Campus Clean-Ups

In partnership with the Office of Sustainability, campus clean-ups are designed to prevent trash from ending up in our waterways.  Student groups and organizations are able to schedule a clean-up for a date and time that works for their members.  Contact Lisa Hill () to schedule your event.

First Fridays

First Fridays provides students the opportunity to volunteer at various organizations on the first Friday of each month. Transportation is provided from campus to the service site and back to campus at the end of the event.  First Fridays run from September through May.  Register through Events at Towson University by searching Civic Engagement

Project Homeless Connect

  • We are proud to partner with the United Way of Central Maryland to support Project Homeless Connect, an annual event to provide vital services to over 2000 members of the Baltimore homeless community.  Each year Towson University students, faculty, and staff volunteer their time to ensure the success of this important program.  Volunteers guide clients through the event, staff the intake tables, and serve as logistical support.

  • Thank you to the TU students, faculty, and staff who volunteered at this year's event.  Information for the 2018 Project Homeless Connect event will be available in September of 2018.

Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week

  • National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week is an annual program to draw attention to the problems of hunger and homelessness in the United States. Previous programs have included a Hunger Banquet, advocacy & awareness events, movie nights, discussion panels, and off-campus service events.

National Volunteer Week

  • National Volunteer Weekis an international initiative to celebrate and thank volunteers who dedicate their time and talents to serve their community. Towson University hosts events throughout the week to provide service opportunities and recognize students, faculty, and staff volunteers.
  • National Volunteer Week 2018 will be April 15th – 22nd, more information will be available on the events page in March.

Relay For Life

Relay For Life is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Relay is staffed and coordinated by volunteers in more than 5,200 communities and 27 countries. Volunteers give of their time and effort because they believe it's time to take action against cancer.

TU Relay For Life occurs in April each year. Additional information can be found at the TU Relay For Life page.

Stuff-A-Bus

TU's Annual Stuff-A-Bus Campaign collects toys for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots initiative as well as non-perishable food for the Maryland Food Bank. Donation boxes can be found around campus and donations will be accepted at the bus under the bridge on Osler Dr. from late November to mid-December.

Students may sign up to staff the bus, earning volunteer hours for their time. Volunteer registration information will be provided in the fall.

The Big Event

One day, hundreds of students, a world of difference.  This annual campus-wide community service event is our biggest of the year and takes place in late April.  Additional information is available on The Big Event page.

Town & Gown

Town & Gown is a day of service in October sponsored by the SGA, where students assist local homeowners and businesses by cleaning up Uptown Towson. Visit our Events page for more information and to register for the 2017 event!
