The Office of Civic Engagement and Social Responsibility supports Towson University
(TU) students and student organizations in connecting with local community organizations

Social Action Collaboratory
The Social Action Collaboratory is a semester-long program in which groups of TU students participate in community-based learning and teaching experiences with
local organizations and community leaders. Student participate in site visits, educational and community-building sessions, and
peer reflections. Applications open in the beginning of each semester.
The Big Event
The Big Event promotes campus and neighborhood unity. Each year hundreds of students
come together for one day to engage in hands-on projects to express their gratitude
for the support from the surrounding community.

Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week
- National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week is an annual program to draw attention to the problems of hunger and homelessness
in the United States. During that week, the Office of Civic Engagement and Social
Responsbility, in collaboration with campus partners, hosts programs that raise awareness
of food and nutrition insecurity.
