Civic Engagement and Social Responsibility hosts service events throughout the year

TU Serves provides students the opportunity to volunteer at various organizations
throughout the greater Baltimore region. Transportation is provided from campus to
the service site and back to campus at the end of the event. TU Serves run from September

The Big Event
One day, hundreds of students, a world of difference. This annual campus-wide community
service event is our biggest of the year and takes place in April. Additional information

Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week
National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Weekis an annual program to draw attention to the problems of hunger and homelessness
in the United States. Previous programs have included a Hunger Banquet, advocacy &
awareness events, movie nights, discussion panels, and off-campus service events.
Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week 2018 will be November 10-18, 2018.
National Volunteer Week
National Volunteer Weekis an international initiative to celebrate and thank volunteers who dedicate their
time and talents to serve their community. Towson University hosts events throughout
the week to provide service opportunities and recognize students, faculty, and staff
National Volunteer Week 2019 will be April 15th – 21st.
Town and Gown
“Town and Gown” is a day of service in October sponsored by theSGA, where students assist local homeowners and businesses by cleaning up Uptown Towson. Information
for our 2018 event will be posted in the fall.
In partnership with theOffice of Sustainability, campus clean-ups are designed to prevent trash from ending up in our waterways.
Student groups and organizations are able to schedule a clean-up for a date and time
that works for their members. Contact Lisa Hill (lhill AT_TOWSON) to schedule your event.
TU's Annual Stuff-A-Bus Campaign collects toys for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots initiative as well as non-perishable food for the Towson University FoodShare Program.
Donation boxes can be found around campus and donations will be accepted at the bus
under the bridge on Osler Dr. from late November to mid-December.
Relay for Life
Relay For Life is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Relay
is staffed and coordinated by volunteers in more than 5,200 communities and 27 countries.
