Attractions

Baltimore 's history is full of famous people and interesting events. The city tends to surprise tourists and students who come for a short visit with great historical and cultural sites. Two must see water front districts are Baltimore's Inner Harbor and Fells Point. 

Professional Sports

Down the road in Washington, D.C., you can visit the Smithsonian museums, the National Mall, the Washington Monument and the Capitol. The MARC Train connects Baltimore Penn Station and Washington Union Station. 

Shopping

The Towson Town Center is a gigantic mall within walking distance of TU's campus. There are other nearby malls; however, transportation is needed as they are located several miles from campus. Wal-Mart and Target are department stores that sell everything from food to hardware and they are located close to Towson University.

Transportation

International visitors typically arrive at Baltimore Washington International (BWI) or Washington Dulles, as they are the closest international airports to Towson .  Traveling around Baltimore City and County is convenient due to a good public transportation system, the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA). 

The TU campus shuttle provides students with free transportation to many campus locations. Operated by Transportation Services, buses run weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. during the fall and spring terms on two routes around campus. On weekends the shuttle runs from noon to 10 p.m. For more information call 410-704-4826.
