Enrolled Transfers (Main Campus) Spring To-Do List

Congratulations on your decision to attend Towson University. The Transfer To-Do List below has been developed to assist you in making your transition to TU as smooth as possible.

All applicable tasks below must be complete by the deadline date or the start of classes. If you have questions, contact the department directly or New Student & Family Programs  at 

Transfer To-Do List:

  • Spring term To-Do List tasks are updated by mid-October.
  • Fall term To-Do List tasks are updated by early April.

Required Tasks

  1. Submit enrollment contract by the date shown on your Offer of Admission letter.
  2. If you are interested in living on-campus, submit your housing application: Deadline - A.S.A.P. after admission; limited space 
  3. Activate and check your NetID (email account) and/or personal email accounts
    New student communications may be sent to TU email accounts and/or personal accounts. Remember to check BOTH accounts regularly for new notifications. After January 30 (spring entry) and August 1 (fall entry), we will only communicate with you using your TU NetID email account.
  4. Apply for and/or review award guide and accept financial aid package
  5. Complete placement testing:

    1. Complete mathematics placement testing (if notified)
      May be required for students who have not completed the math requirements for their major, depending on major requirements and transferred coursework. This testing is highly recommended for all students. Even if you are exempt from placement testing, you may choose to take the test for your own advisement and at no risk. More information and test access is available at the link above.
    2. Complete reading placement testing (if notified)
      Required for students transferring with less than 30 college credits completed.
  6. Register for New Student Orientation
    Orientation is required to schedule courses and review your transfer credit evaluation. 
  7. Complete Strengths Quest assessment 
    This 20 minute assessment will be used to learn, utilize and build on your strengths. Your results will be used during New Student Orientation.

  8. Submit your final official college transcript.
    Please make arrangements for your college or university to send your official transcript to University Admissions. The official transcript must be sent directly from your current college by mail to: University Admissions, Towson University, 8000 York Road, Towson, MD 21252-0001 or electronically to 

  9. Register for Honors College Orientation
    This program will introduce newly admitted Honors College students to TU. This is in addition to New Student Orientation.

  10. Complete immunization requirements through the TU Health Portal:
    Deadline: January 25

  11. Complete Alcohol & Sexual Violence Prevention Programs: 
    Deadline - January 25

  12. Learn about payments, e-rebates & refunds and 1098-T consent

    The spring 2019 tuition and fees e-bill due date is February 6.
