Transfer Students

As a TU student, you are in great company, as more than half of our student population consists of transfer students. We welcome you into the tiger family. Below we've highlighted some key programs to help make your transition to your new home as smooth as possible.

Transfer Advising

Within two weeks of your first term at Towson you will be assigned a major advisor. If you are still deciding on your major you will be assigned an advisor in the Academic Advising, Retention & Completion Office. You can find your advisor information on your Student Dashboard in Towson Online Services.

Your advisor is a vital part of your academic support network, and will assist you in many ways, including by helping you create your Degree Completion Plan (DCP). This will be your roadmap for timely academic progress.

Transfer Admissions

Even after enrollment, the Transfer Admissions continues to support TU students with evaluating transfer credit, connecting to campus resources, and more.

Transfer Mentor Program

The Transfer Mentor Program connects new transfer students with experienced mentors to assist in their adjustment to their new academic and social environment.

Commuter Students

As many transfer students are also commuter students, we encourage you to learn more about commuter permits and costs.
