General Information

Thank you for your interest in COFAC Events and Operations. The following information is designed to share general guidelines about using COFAC resources. For information about attending events or purchasing tickets visit Ticketing & Patron Services.

The CE&O team is available via email or by appointment.

Access to any facility to view, tour, or use must be requested and approved in advance. Access is typically scheduled between 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. based on many factors. The unauthorized use of any  space by any group is strictly prohibited.
All individuals accessing university facilities, including university and outside organizations — employees, volunteers, invitees and guests — must adhere to all university policies and operating guidelines.

All audio and video recording must be approved by CE&O in advance. Aisles must remain clear during occupation. Recording, if approved, may limit the number of occupants based on seats being reserved or removed.

The CE&O team determines the cleaning needs for each individual event.

As part of using a facility, you accept responsibility for damages including repair costs or replacement costs of fixtures, equipment, or any portion of facility, as well as all cleaning that is beyond the scope of regular practices as a result of your use.

Nothing can be nailed, stapled, tacked or otherwise affixed to TU property. For taping of cables, please consult the venue operations staff. Only freestanding equipment or decorations may be used. Rice, glitter, birdseed, tinsel and confetti are not permitted.

Any live entertainment (DJ, dance band, musician soloist, magician, juggler, etc.) must be approved by the CE&O in writing. Please bear in mind that there may be other events going on at the same time. For those reasons, the CE&O reserves the right to deny approval for requests that would be disruptive to previously scheduled events nearby.

Changes to equipment needs could affect costs. If the necessary equipment for the event is not available within the space, additional costs are added to the facility cost. All equipment, props, and other materials brought in to be used during an event are subject to the advance approval of the CE&O team.

Rehearsal rooms, dance and movement studios and practice rooms in the Center for the Arts are reserved for the exclusive use of our COFAC majors.

Fees for the use of COFAC facilities can include, but are not limited to:

  • housekeeping
  • set-up
  • security
  • parking
  • overtime

It is the sole responsibility of the CE&O to determine and require payment for costs relating to the needs of an event. A deposit, contract issued by TU and liability insurance coverage are required for all non-TU organizations.

Having food present at any event must be arranged and approved in advance by the CE&O. The use of an outside food services provider is strictly prohibited without the express written consent of the CE&O and Tiger Hospitality Catering, the exclusive university food service provider. With university approval, the university’s food services provider may, but is not required to, waive its exclusive right to serve food and beverage products for a specific event. Any such waiver is obtained by the CE&O and kept on file. Alcohol may not be sold under any circumstances by anyone other than the university’s food services provider.

If the university is closed, events are cancelled. Official university closings are posted on the TU homepage. Information is also available by calling 410-704-2000.

For external users, upon confirmation of space availability and your decision to hold your event at TU, you will need to provide your own insurance coverage for operations in connection with the event. This includes, but is not limited to, Commercial General Liability coverage with a minimum limit in the amount of $1,000,000 per occurrence.

The CE&O team is happy to provide one initial layout and up to two revisions at no charge. Moving of building furniture is not permitted. The final layout cannot be altered on the day of the event without CE&O staff approval.

Items that are found will be held at the TU Arts Box Office for a limited time. If you have lost an item and would like to be contacted if found, please complete a Lost Property Form in person or over the phone. TU Arts Box Office can be contacted via , 410-704-2787 or visited in person during operational hours.

Parking located near or on campus is subject to normal campus parking policies. Campus and public parking is fee-based depending on time of day, day of the week and other events in the area.
