Transfer students are admitted to the university according to university policies and procedures.
Transfer students receive an official evaluation of transferable credits from the Office of Admissions after accepting Towson University’s offer of admission (by returning the Enrollment Contract and fee).
We recommend that students planning to transfer to Towson University to major in Nursing use ARTSYS to help plan a program of study. ARTSYS is a Web-based system used by Maryland community colleges and four-year institutions. ARTSYS provides students with information that can facilitate the transfer from one college to another by including course equivalences among Maryland public colleges. In addition, ARTSYS provides suggested two-year curricula referred to as Recommended Transfer Programs (RTPs). RTPs provide students with requirements and information for specific TU majors. They also identify the introductory courses for those majors.
Generally, nursing transfer students must complete all required nursing courses of the department at Towson University. Nursing courses completed in another baccalaureate nursing program are evaluated individually for equivalence by the department after an applicant receives admission to the nursing program.
