Department of English
Start here. Go anywhere. Writing & publishing, law & medicine, private sector & public service, teaching & research. What will you do with an English major? What won’t you do?
The Department of English reaches every student population at Towson through first-year writing, core curriculum, undergraduate and graduate classes.
We offer courses in creative writing, critical literacies, literature, and professional writing. Students create pathways that suit their interests, choosing from a range of in-person and online courses that explore diverse cultures, traditions, and media. Our students also earn course credit through internships, grant-writing programs, and student-centered literary productions. These opportunities help students thrive in increasingly global spaces.
