Level I

Level I is the first semester of the Elementary Education program. Students take courses focused on literacy instruction and attend a field placement in an elementary school for ½ day each week.

Level I Courses

Four courses are taken within the cohort:

  • EDUC 417 Children's Literature and Other Materials for Teaching Reading
  • ELED 357 Linguistically Diverse Learners in the Classroom
  • ELED 323 Principles and Practice of  Instruction in Reading and Language Arts
  • ELED 363 Language and Literacy Internship

How to Apply for Level II

You must attend the Level II orientation to be able to apply for Level II. The Level II Orientation will be in October, and the date will be posted on the Elementary Education bulletin board when available.
