Pre Level I consists of all the prerequisite courses needed for acceptance into the Elementary
Education major. During this phase, students are designated as Pre-Elementary Education
majors and take all of the Towson University Core Curriculum courses and the Elementary
Education prerequisite courses.
To apply for the Elementary Education program (Level 1 application):
- Attend a Level 1 orientation meeting. The date of the next meeting will be posted
on the Elementary Education bulletin boards as soon as it has been scheduled. All
meetings will be held in Hawkins Hall 306.
- Complete the application you receive at the orientation meeting and compile the supporting
documentation listed on the application.
- To be accepted into the Elementary Education program, you must have (1) completed
all the courses on the left side of the program checklist, (2) have a GPA of at least
2.75, (3) have no grade lower than a C in any course on the left side of the checklist,
and (4) have a score of 1100 on the verbal/math portions of the SAT or a 24 on the
ACT or a passing score on Praxis Core Academic Skills Tests.
