Faculty Professional Development

The College of Education offers professional development events throughout the year to support faculty growth, collaboration, innovation and community. These events give faculty opportunities to strengthen their instruction, research, professional practice and peer affinity, and to engage in the college's strategic plan. 

Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)

Monthly, topic-based virtual workshops for faculty to foster their professional interests and develop new skills. 

Faculty Writing Group

A weekly opportunity for faculty to work on scholarship with the support and motivation of peers. Faculty can participate in person or virtually every week or drop in when they can.

Practice-Based Teacher Education (PBTE) 

A guided instruction in high-leverage teaching practices for faculty to design more impactful learning experiences for students with ongoing mentor coaching and peer collaboration. PBTE professional development opportunities include a dedicated PLC group, workshops and independent studies.

Lunch & Learn

Hosted by the COE Office of Research & Evaluation (ORE), these topic-based monthly workshops help faculty with grant proposals, funding opportunities, research methods and more. 

ECHO Community of Practice

These monthly workshops provide strategies to create more equitable and inclusive learning environments for students. Through practice-based interaction, faculty build community, share ideas, reflect, support and inspire as they actively participate in this important work in a meaningful way.
