Guitar ensemble classes at Towson University are an integral part of the guitar program. Students attend weekly sessions designed to develop important skills including group listening, integrating into an ensemble, sight reading, and musicianship.
This is a performing ensemble where students, grouped variably into duos, trios, quartets and guitar orchestras, perform in regular recitals. Periodically, students are also paired with vocalists and other instruments to expand their chamber music experience. Performance highlights include the regional premiere of Gilbert Biberian's The Rose Garden and the world premiere of Vivian Adelberg Rudow's The Ocean Sings for viola solo and guitar orchestra.
