Professional Development Opportunities

Various professional development opportunities are available, including:

Training Tracks

Training and workshops for various topics are available to supervisors to assist them in their supervisory duties. Programs are designed to help you excel at obtaining, managing, and interacting with your staff.

Training and workshops for various topics are available to all faculty and staff. Training sessions and workshops focus on professional growth for your career goals. Programs are designed to help you reach your fullest potential and plan for future opportunities.

Wellness Wednesday Workshops focus on various aspects of wellness. Practicing healthy habits regularly helps us as individuals reach better physical and mental health. Let’s thrive, not just survive.

Strengths-based organizations celebrate and honor each person's talents and leverage them to build a better, more complete group. CliftonStrengths supports faculty and staff to reach greater success and engagement by helping them understand their natural strengths to create a campus dynamic that welcomes, values, and leverages each person’s talents. In this workshop, participants will explore their CliftonStrengths and deepen their understanding of their own leadership to apply their talents more productively towards personal, academic and career aspirations.

CliftonStrengths workshops can be attended individually by signing up for a session through the training calendar or be scheduled with a team or department.

The Office of Human Resources hosts several training sessions throughout the year focusing on topics such as benefits and recruiting and retaining talent.

Webinars are available through the University System of Maryland (USM) and the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Sessions that are available to TU employees are announced through TU Today when available.
