The Building Bridges program fosters collaboration and idea sharing between 7 USM institutions, and provides a unique opportunity for support staff to develop themselves.
The Building Bridges program includes a cohort of individuals from each institution, who attend seven sessions – one held at each participating institution. Programs begin with a kickoff session that brings participants together to learn what is expected to complete the program and get to know each other. After the final session, participants and their supervisors are invited to attend a formal graduation where they receive a certificate of completion.
Cohorts begin early during the month of August. Topics include Managing Your Strengths, Career Development Essentials, Staying Organized While Balancing Multiple Priorities, Working with Difficult People, and Customer Service is No Different in Higher Education than Anywhere Else.
Program graduates are sometimes invited back to continue their professional development, reconnect and meet members of other cohorts. Stay tuned for our next alumni event!
